As a member of Mathews Yacht Club, you have access to a variety of exclusive activities designed to build friendships, and create lasting memories. Dive into our curated offerings that cater to all interests and skill levels. Our range of family-friendly activities ensures that members of all ages can have fun, learn new skills, and create lasting memories.

    Canasta

    Year round on Fridays, members meet at the club to play Canasta and have lunch! Members who are new to Canasta are encouraged to join in and learn as they play!

    Cruising

    Throughout the season, our boaters cruise around the Chesapeake Bay. The trips vary from day outings to week long excursions.

    Kayaking

    From spring until fall, our kayaking group enjoys excursions from our club and other nearby locations.

  • Destination Dinners

    Throughout the year we have themed dinners from various worldwide destinations. From the Chesapeake Bay, to Asia, Europe and South America, each dinner is a unique experience.

    Crafts

    Our members have a wide variety of interests and we cover all bases. Throughout the year we offer craft classes.

We enjoy boating events; weekly get togethers to play a variety of card games or Mah Jongg. There is also a monthly Trivia Night. During warmer months we enjoy kayaking in local waterways. For those seeking more refined pleasures, we offer cooking and pastry making demonstrations and cocktail making classes to elevate your mixology skills.

If you have an idea, suggest it to the Activities Committee and watch them put it into action! Better yet, volunteer to join in the planning!

  • Members enjoy 4 - 6 cruises around the region of the Chesapeake Bay annually.

  • From spring until fall, our kayaking group enjoys excursions from our club and other nearby locations.

  • Every Monday a group of Mah Jongg players meet at the Club House to socialize and play Mah Jongg. Many members enjoy for lunch, before we start playing.

    A Mah Jongg class is offered a few times a year to help more members join in the fun.

  • Every Friday, groups of card players meet at the Club House to play a variety of card games. The groups take a break to eat lunch by ordering from our delicious lunch menu.

    A Canasta class is offered a few times a year to help more members join in the fun!

  • Throughout the year we offer a wide variety of classes from card skills, mixology and cooking, to line dancing and water aerobics.

  • A lively Trivia Night is held monthly. Members sign up as teams or opt to be assigned to tables to form new teams each time. Organizers rotate each month so every time is unique! We have a lot of laughs at this activity and always a delicious meal.

  • Once a month a group of members meet at the club to discuss a book selected by the group. Following the meeting, many members stay to enjoy dinner together!
